Samui is also located a short place ride from Bangkok to Surit Thani. After which you take a picturesque ferry ride to Samui. It’s the longer, yet cheaper option.
For families, it all depends on how old your kids are and how long you are willing to travel for with them. With little ones, a short plane ride from Bangkok direct to Samui might be best. For older kids a plane ride plus a ferry ride might make your trip to Samui feel more adventurous.
